Last Sunday there was a parade for San Pedro, who is a patron saint for the fisherman people. We knew about it because our friends from NYC were walking in the parade on stilts with their school!
There were tons of groups that did traditional dances and music, including a Bolivian dance, Peruvian dance, etc. It was a really cool parade! It made me think of the May Day parade in Minneapolis. Here are some pictures!
Thanks a lot,
Grace
Wow! That does look like the May Day parade! I wonder how the people on stilts can stand like that for so long. I would crash to the ground! :) It looks like you had a great time. Thanks for posting Gracie...love seeing your blog work!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome! Dancers & fishermen, how cool! Did you see your friends on stilts too? Keep up the updates coming GH!
ReplyDeleteHi Gracie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool parade. Those tall puppets do remind me of the May Day Parade. I liked hearing the sound of the music. Didn't it make you want to dance while you were watching? You see so many neat things. Was the guy in the boat a real fisherman? I didn't get to see the fishermen in Valpo or their catches but it would be neat to see what kind of fish they bring in. Well it's a beautiful Fourth of July here. Happy Fourth wherever you end up today.
Love, Grandma Mary
Sweet! I'm guessing you'll be on stilts in the next parade, right?
